Anthropogenic noise is a concern for any activity conducted on or near the water and the inclusion of an underwater noise monitoring plan or data to support Environmental Impact Statements are becoming common requirements for agency issued permits for any size project.
Delphis Technical Support and Solutions, LLC has conducted a wide range of hydroacoustic monitoring programs since 2001 that include pile driving operations, dredging operations, marine construction, and explosion monitoring for agencies as Washington State Ferries, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and the Department of Fish and Wildlife. We have gained a proficient understanding of different ambient conditions at a site. Our vast field experience allows us to collect and provide ancillary data such as speed of sound (air and water), bottom characteristics and other factors that may affect the overall propagation of the noise through the water, as well as precise positioning knowledge critical to accurate acoustic model studies.
We own and maintain equipment and work with manufacturers to develop new equipment for different application options. This includes the recent development of Delphis-TSS Remote Telemetry Unit that can be used as an efficient dual channel monitoring device capable of transmitting data packages remotely via radio or cellular modem back to the office. The acoustic drifter provides an inexpensive option to collect data from various logged geo-referenced distances from an activity.
Delphis Technical Support and Solutions, LLC provides underwater videography using new, high definition video equipment to capture clear underwater images. We have a wide range of equipment available that includes a high-definition Seaview SDI camera system with the prototype annotator to tag the video data image with a georeferenced record. Large areas can be accurately mapped with the location of objects of interest observed on the video plotted in real-time or referenced later in post processing review. Our ROV capabilities provide agile and fast response for inspections or reconnaissance. Our capabilities are not limited to the length of a tethered system. Our autonomous camera system can attain depths of approximately 1750-meters and have provided ancillary video support for sediment profile imaging data efforts to approximately 300-meters in 2016.
Underwater video surveys can provide excellent imagery to gain an overall qualitative assessment of a site as well as quantitative, georeferenced data to make informed and cost-effective decisions. These surveys can stand on their own but often provide delineation data that compliments other surveys such as benthic and macroalgae surveys.
Delphis Technical Support and Solutions, LLC. maintains and operates several different types of water quality testing instruments and sediment samplers. DTSS is experienced with collecting environmental samples to EPA, DNR, DOE, and ADEC guidelines and protocols. We can help you collect in-situ sampling of standard water quality parameters or set up a more complex monitoring plan to track the dispersment of the metric over distance or time.
Delphis Technical Support and Solutions, LLC has developed and provided support for field operations and euipment requiring the deployment and recovery of autonomous data loggers. We have experience with multiple oceanographic platform types including bottom mounted and mooring mounted instrumentation.
Whether buoy mounted or land mounted, Delphis Technical Support and Solutions, LLC. is experienced with the deployment and maintence of several different types of weather monitoring packages and telemetry .
